There is a clash between Abrahamic religions like Islam / Christianity and Hinduism in that the latter does not believe in expanding its base or growing its number of followers. As Indian society is very tolerant, Christian missionaries have been allowed to conduct a lot of activities. Many premier schools in the India's major cities are also mission schools (e.g. La Martinere in Kolkata and St. Stephens College in New Delhi). The problem arises when there are targeted attempts by religious organisations to change the demographics of districts and states.

Many Christian missionaries are known to give food in exchange for people below the poverty line joining the Christian church. This strikes me as bizarre.
